Type Best Used For Recommended Weights
Dumbbells light Cardio classes 1kg - 3kg
Dumbbells medium Cardio and Strength classes 4kg - 10kg
Dumbbells heavy Strength classes 10kg +
Kettlebells Cardio and Strength classes 4kg - 12kg
Remember: light dumbbells can be used in intermediate and advanced Cardio Dumbbells classes, as well as beginner - so lighter doesn’t mean easier.
If you’ve never lifted before, pop into your local gym or sports shop and test some out. Move from lighter to heavier weights as you build strength.
